In a significant move within the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), the party’s Executive Committee and General Council have unanimously decided to remove Anbumani Ramadoss from leadership and reinstate founder Dr. S. Ramadoss as the supreme leader. The meeting, led by Dr. Ramadoss in Salem, addressed internal differences within the party.
This decision marks a pivotal moment in the PMK’s internal dynamics, officially recognizing Dr. Ramadoss as the sole leader with full authority over organizational and electoral matters. Dr. Ramadoss highlighted the need for a single, strong leadership to unify the party and face upcoming political challenges.
Acknowledging the confusion caused by the dual leadership structure involving both father and son, the Executive and General Council endorsed Dr. Ramadoss’s leadership, granting him the power to make crucial decisions, including forming alliances and selecting candidates for future elections. The meeting also saw the removal of Anbumani Ramadoss from the party, signaling a definitive end to internal discord.
The party further announced the replacement of Soumya Anbumani as the head of the Green Homeland wing with Dr. Ramadoss’s elder daughter, Srikanti. These changes aim to restore discipline, unity, and clear leadership within the PMK, focusing on organizational strength and political strategies for the upcoming elections.
This development signifies a significant shift in the PMK’s history, consolidating power around its founder and putting an end to the era of dual leadership that had prevailed in recent years.
