In a significant case involving the abduction, sexual assault, and blackmail of a minor student, a POCSO Court has handed down 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment to a teacher and his accomplice, along with substantial fines. The conviction resulted from an investigation by Jaipur Rural Police and prosecution by the Special Public Prosecutor.
The case unveiled a distressing scenario where a school teacher was found guilty of kidnapping and sexually exploiting a minor girl in the Jobner police station area of Jaipur Rural district. The seriousness of the matter led to the appointment of a Special Public Prosecutor to ensure effective representation during the trial.
The victim’s family reported her missing on January 2, 2024, leading to the swift arrest of the accused teacher in Haryana and the safe rescue of the victim. The investigation revealed that the teacher had exploited and blackmailed the victim using objectionable materials, leading to repeated threats and sexual exploitation.
The accused, along with an associate, allegedly abducted the victim on January 1, 2024, prompting immediate action by the police, including medical examinations and evidence collection. The comprehensive charge sheet filed by Jaipur Rural Police, supported by scientific and documentary evidence, led to the successful prosecution of both accused.
The POCSO Court in Jaipur, under District Judge Dr. Kailash Chandra Atwasiya, delivered its verdict on June 10, 2025, sentencing the main accused to 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment and imposing substantial fines. The co-accused was also convicted and sentenced for aiding in the criminal conspiracy, reflecting Rajasthan Police’s commitment to justice for victims of crimes against children.
