Police in Srinagar district, Jammu and Kashmir, have seized an immovable property worth Rs 1 crore from a drug peddler as part of the ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan’. The attached property is a residential house owned by Aamir Hassan Mir in Anantnag district. It has an estimated market value of nearly Rs 1 crore. This action was taken under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act in connection with a narcotics case registered in Srinagar.
The property, located in the Bijbehara area of south Kashmir, was attached after completing all legal formalities in the presence of an Executive Magistrate. It cannot be sold, transferred, or dealt with without prior permission. Srinagar Police emphasizes its dedication to dismantling narcotics networks and enforcing strict legal measures against those involved in drug trafficking. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had earlier announced severe penalties for drug offenders, including property attachment.
Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with security forces, have intensified anti-drug operations, resulting in the attachment of properties worth crores and the arrest of numerous individuals engaged in drug-related activities. The public is urged to assist by providing information on drug peddling to create a drug-free society.
