Vishal Bansal, Additional Director General of Police, Special Operations Group (SOG), disclosed that crackdowns on impersonation in exams uncovered three significant cases in Rajasthan. Weak candidates allegedly hired more qualified substitutes for exams by paying hefty amounts.
One case involved the 2022 Lecturer (Hindi – School Education) exam by the Rajasthan Public Service Commission, where a teacher acted as a dummy candidate for another after a Rs 5 lakh deal. The accused manipulated documents to deceive authorities.
In another case from the same exam, a person posed as a dummy candidate for an ex-serviceman for Rs 7.5 lakh, with identity fraud involved.
The third case related to the Physical Education Teacher Recruitment Examination-2022 saw a teacher appearing for someone else for Rs 6 lakh. Both the impersonator and the intermediary were apprehended.
Identifying these imposters was challenging due to sophisticated forgeries, but with the help of specialized software and analysis, accurate arrests were made. The accused face charges under various laws, and investigations are ongoing to dismantle the network.
The Special Operations Group emphasized a zero-tolerance stance on exam fraud, vowing strict measures for transparent recruitment processes.
