In a significant breakthrough against illegal firearms manufacturing and trafficking in Bihar, security agencies uncovered a secret mini-gun factory in the Barbighi Bahiyar area under Baliya Police Station in Begusarai district. Acting on specific intelligence, a joint team of police and the Special Investigation Team (SIT) conducted a raid and apprehended three individuals, including the alleged factory operator and two skilled weapon makers. The operation, driven by precise technical and human intelligence, was carried out by a team led by Senior Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pankaj Kumar and DSP Sheikh Sabir, involving personnel from various units.
During the raid, a substantial amount of illegal firearms, live ammunition, and sophisticated weapon-manufacturing tools were seized from the makeshift factory. The confiscated items comprised two country-made pistols, magazines, cartridges, machine tools, and other equipment used in firearm production. Investigators suspect that the factory was involved in producing illegal firearms for distribution to criminal networks operating throughout Bihar.
The three arrested individuals include two experienced firearm artisans from Munger district and a local resident accused of running the illegal manufacturing unit. They were identified as Mohammad Asim alias Tarzan, Mohammad Shamshad, and Baleshwar Mahto. Following the raid, the suspects were handed over to the Baliya Police Station for legal procedures, with a case filed under the Arms Act. Police are now focusing on uncovering the criminal backgrounds of the accused and identifying the network associated with the illicit arms production.
Authorities believe that this operation has dealt a significant blow to the illegal arms supply chain in the region. As the investigation progresses, more arrests are anticipated, with efforts underway to trace the distribution network and criminal groups linked to the seized firearms.
