In a significant move against the interstate trade of illicit liquor, the Special Staff of Dwarka District Police apprehended a key accused and dismantled an organized network. The operation led to the arrest of Puskar Kumar, an interstate supplier, with a substantial cache of illicit liquor and a vehicle used for transportation.
Under the campaign “Nashe Par Lagaam, Desh Ko Salaam!!”, initiated by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Kushal Pal Singh, the Dwarka District Police are intensifying efforts to combat drug and illicit liquor activities. The recent breakthrough involved seizing 40 cartons of illicit liquor and a white Hyundai i-20 car from the accused, Puskar Kumar.
Puskar Kumar, a 22-year-old resident of Mitraun village in Delhi, was found transporting the illegal consignment near Odisha Sadan in Dwarka. The police team, under Inspector Kamlesh Kumar’s leadership, intercepted the vehicle following a tip-off, leading to the recovery of the illicit liquor marked for sale in Haryana only.
Efforts are now underway to trace the source of the liquor and identify the recipients of the seized consignment. Puskar Kumar, who confessed to his involvement in the illegal trade driven by the lure of quick money, is cooperating with the investigation to uncover the larger network behind the illicit liquor business.
