In Rajasthan’s Pratapgarh district, police conducted a successful operation named Chakravyuh, uncovering a small-scale drug manufacturing setup in a farm hut. The raid led to the confiscation of illegal MD (mephedrone), weapons, and production equipment, exposing an interstate drug network. The seized 1.897 kg of illicit MD is valued at approximately Rs 1.60 crore in the international market.
Two individuals, Murad Khan Pathan and Mohammad Junaid, were apprehended during the operation. Pathan and Junaid confessed to manufacturing drugs at the site for the past two days. Meanwhile, two other suspects managed to escape, prompting police to launch a search operation to locate and arrest them. The raid also resulted in the discovery of illegal weapons, including a loaded pistol and live cartridges in Pathan’s possession.
The police operation, overseen by Superintendent of Police B. Aditya, involved the recovery of drug production equipment like an induction cooker, mixer, heater, and weighing scale. The arrested individuals have a history of criminal activities, with Pathan facing charges related to attempted murder and violations of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Further investigations are ongoing to trace the drug supply chain and distribution points.
