The Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate has enforced Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita in Noida and Greater Noida. These restrictions are in place before the Bakrid (Eid-ul-Adha) festivities in Uttar Pradesh and various parts of the country. Prohibitory orders have been implemented to ensure peace and communal harmony during this period.
The order prohibits protests, demonstrations, and gatherings without prior permission from May 28 to May 30. It aims to safeguard public peace and harmony during Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) activities, including ‘qurbani’ (sacrifice) and namaz (prayers). Precautionary measures have been taken to prevent any disruption by anti-social elements.
No group of five or more individuals can organize processions, assemblies, or demonstrations without authorization from the Police Commissioner or other designated officers. The use of drone cameras for photography and videography is also banned. Loudspeakers at religious sites and public places must adhere to existing regulations, with sound-amplifying devices prohibited between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
The display of religious flags, banners, or posters in public spaces is not allowed. The order warns against spreading inflammatory content that could incite communal sentiments. It strictly prohibits the open display of weapons and the consumption of alcohol or intoxicants in public areas.
The police urge the public to follow the regulations, avoid spreading rumors, and report any suspicious activities promptly.
