CCTV footage circulating on social media reportedly captures two police officers witnessing a violent attack on a rowdy-sheeter in Bengaluru’s JP Nagar during daylight. The footage shows the officers, a male constable riding a motorcycle with a female constable as a pillion, observing the assault closely without taking action. Despite the assailants fleeing the scene, the officers are seen leaving without intervening or seeking help.
Authorities are currently investigating the behavior of the officers in the video and are working to identify them for potential disciplinary measures. Additionally, the authenticity of the footage is being verified to determine its credibility. In response to the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Division) Kona Vamsi Krishna has deployed three special teams to track down and apprehend the perpetrators.
The murder is believed to be linked to a past homicide allegedly committed by the victim, Raju alias Halmurka, nearly ten years ago in Banashankari. Investigators are delving into historical gang conflicts and criminal connections to piece together the events leading to the recent killing. Despite Raju’s criminal background, no recent charges had been filed against him.
Authorities are also exploring potential ties to associates of a notorious criminal known as “Stand Kutti” in connection with the case. Raju alias Halmurka, who faced multiple charges including murder and robbery, was a suspect in various criminal cases. The police suspect the murder was a premeditated act arising from a longstanding feud, and they are conducting search operations with optimism for swift arrests.
The incident has sparked widespread concern among Bengaluru residents, who are questioning the inaction of the police officers during the violent episode.
