A political feud unfolded in Tamil Nadu as AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami criticized Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay for labeling AIADMK and DMK as “joint thieves.” Palaniswami urged Vijay to be more cautious with his statements, denying any betrayal by AIADMK and accusing Vijay of orchestrating defections from his party. He also questioned the achievements of the TVK government in its initial two months in power.
Palaniswami highlighted discrepancies in the TVK government’s promises of clean governance, pointing out individuals criticized by Vijay who have now joined his party. He questioned the accomplishments of the government during its first 60 days, emphasizing its alleged political vulnerability with a slim majority. Palaniswami dismissed rumors of AIADMK aligning with DMK, reaffirming their historical rivalry.
In response, the TVK’s IT wing swiftly retaliated, mocking Palaniswami’s leadership and accusing him of clandestine talks with DMK for a coalition government. The statement ridiculed Palaniswami’s credibility and referenced the Kodanad estate murder case, questioning his moral authority. The TVK urged Palaniswami to concentrate on rebuilding AIADMK instead of engaging in what they termed as “comical political interviews.”
