A political clash in Rajasthan has escalated following the elimination of four books from the school curriculum. State Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra has accused of a scheme to erase history, while Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar has vehemently denied the allegations. Dilawar criticized Congress for allegedly misguiding the public and diminishing the stature of leaders like B.R. Ambedkar.

Minister Madan Dilawar, in response, accused the Congress party of neglecting prominent figures such as Lal Bahadur Shastri and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in its narrative. He emphasized the need for detailed accounts of leaders like Shastri, Morarji Desai, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and Narendra Modi in textbooks. Dilawar highlighted the absence of content on these leaders in the book ‘Azaad Bharat ka Swarnim Itihas’.

Dilawar clarified that the aim is not to distort history but to rectify it. He pointed out the inadequate representation of leaders like Ambedkar, Patel, and Shastri in textbooks. The Education Department of Rajasthan has made a significant decision to remove four textbooks from the curriculum for Classes 9 to 12, categorizing them as “deleted books” and prohibiting their use in schools.

Govind Singh Dotasra raised concerns over the removal of key textbooks, labeling it as a direct attack on thought and history. He criticized the decision as an attempt to control narratives and warned about the potential impact on future generations. Dotasra questioned whether the books were eliminated due to their focus on leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Manmohan Singh, as well as the Constitution framed by Dr. Ambedkar.
