The political tension in Bihar escalated as the Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, criticized the government for the increasing prices of essential goods. This criticism drew a strong response from the BJP state president, Sanjay Saraogi, who targeted former Chief Minister Rabri Devi. Tejashwi Yadav highlighted the burden on households due to the soaring prices of items like tomatoes, onions, and potatoes.
The opposition leader also pointed out the challenges faced by consumers with the rising costs of petrol, diesel, LPG, pulses, flour, vegetables, and edible oil. He accused the government of failing to curb inflation and blamed issues like hoarding, black marketing, unemployment, poverty, and corruption for worsening the economic situation. Tejashwi criticized the ruling alliance for policies that he believes have negatively impacted the public.
In response to Tejashwi Yadav’s criticism of Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, the BJP leader launched a counterattack against Rabri Devi, calling her tenure as Chief Minister a dark period for Bihar. He advised Tejashwi to consider that era before commenting on the current administration. The BJP condemned Tejashwi’s remarks, while the RJD continued to question the government’s performance on various fronts like inflation, governance, and unemployment.
The ongoing verbal sparring reflects the heightened political tensions in Bihar, with both sides intensifying their verbal assaults in anticipation of future political battles. The accusations and rebuttals exchanged by the ruling coalition and the opposition are part of the political discourse.
