A strong Western Disturbance brought dust storms, rain, and hail to various districts in Rajasthan, disrupting daily life. Areas like Churu, Hanumangarh, Sri Ganganagar, and others faced sandstorms with wind speeds reaching up to 102 kmph. Ajmer, Jodhpur, and rural Jaipur witnessed rain and strong winds, leading to a sudden shift in weather conditions.
The storm system, originating in Hanumangarh and Sri Ganganagar, intensified rapidly, uprooting trees and causing power outages in multiple districts. In Chomu near Jaipur, a tin shed was torn off by the storm, narrowly missing a passerby. While the weather change brought relief from the summer heat, it also resulted in localized damages, including lightning striking a water tank in Ratangarh, Churu district.
Bhilwara experienced rain after a dust storm, leading to waterlogging, while Rawatbhata in Chittorgarh faced reduced visibility due to a sudden dust storm. Pali district witnessed severe disruptions, with dust storms affecting transportation and causing power outages. Jaisalmer’s Ramdevra and nearby areas were hit by dust storms followed by rainfall, prompting the Meteorological Department to issue alerts for heavy rain and strong winds in various districts.
Satellite imagery confirmed the rapid advancement of the storm system across Rajasthan, with Red Alerts issued for specific areas like Phalodi, Jodhpur, and Jaipur. Orange Alerts were also issued for other regions like Alwar and Sawai Madhopur, indicating the severity of the weather conditions.
