Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraaj Party, visited the village of a student who died in suspicious circumstances at a girls’ hostel in Patna. The family alleges sexual assault and police pressure to withdraw the case, with the possibility of rape not ruled out in the post-mortem report.

Kishor expressed concern over the police investigation into the incident, highlighting the disturbing nature of the student’s death. He emphasized the family’s claims of sexual assault and pressure from the police to drop the case, stating that local residents are angered by the situation.

Addressing the media after meeting the family, Kishor denounced the alleged pressure faced by the family from the police. He noted the family’s determination to seek justice for their daughter and demanded immediate corrections if any investigative lapses were found.

Kishor announced plans to meet senior police officials with the victim’s family to demand a fair and transparent investigation. He vowed to ensure justice for the girl and warned of further actions within the constitutional framework if justice is not served. The incident has sparked public outrage and calls for a thorough inquiry into the girl’s death.

Patna Police had arrested the hostel owner earlier, and the post-mortem report, received on January 14, indicated the possibility of sexual assault. Doctors expressed concerns over the circumstances leading to the girl’s death, which occurred at Shambhu Girls’ Hostel in Patna on January 9.
