Actress Preity Zinta has called on the government to engage in a meaningful conversation with activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been fasting for 23 days. Zinta expressed her concerns on social media, urging for a resolution amidst the current political tensions in the country. She emphasized the importance of Wangchuk’s health and the need to find common ground.

Zinta highlighted the significance of the protest led by Wangchuk and students in advocating for India’s future and youth. She extended her unwavering support to the cause, emphasizing the need to improve the educational system. Wangchuk initiated his hunger strike in response to exam paper leaks and irregularities in the education sector, sparking widespread demonstrations across India.

The controversy surrounding exam paper leaks has triggered protests in various Indian cities, including New Delhi and Mumbai. Wangchuk’s hunger strike gained momentum until authorities intervened, moving him to a hospital due to health concerns and in compliance with a court order. The activist’s demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over exam irregularities remains a focal point of the protests.

The issue of paper leaks escalated with the NEET exam controversy, leading to further unrest. Recent clashes between protestors and law enforcement at Jantar Mantar resulted in a violent confrontation. Despite facing adversity, Wangchuk remains resolute in his hunger strike, denouncing the mistreatment of protestors during the demonstrations.
