Bollywood actress Preity Zinta clarified in an old interview with Lehren TV that her actual Bollywood debut was not in the movie “Dil Se..” as commonly believed. She disclosed that she had signed and shot for “Kya Kehna” before “Dil Se..,” but due to delays, the former released later. Zinta mentioned that technically, her first film would have been Shekhar Kapur’s “Tara Rum Pum Pum,” which unfortunately never made it to the screens.
After gaining recognition with “Dil Se..” in 1998 alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala, directed by Mani Ratnam, Preity Zinta became a sought-after actress in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Her successful career spanning over three decades includes popular films like “Kal Ho Naa Ho,” “Veer-Zaara,” “Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna,” among others. Movies such as “Soldier” and “Kya Kehna” further solidified her position as a leading star.
Following her marriage to businessman Gene Goodenough and relocation to the United States, Preity Zinta took a break from mainstream Bollywood. She is now a proud mother of twins.
