Actress Preity Zinta once disclosed on “Koffee with Karan” why she wouldn’t reach out to actor Saif Ali Khan during a crisis. She recounted an incident where Saif jokingly messaged her while she was facing a life-threatening situation during the Tsunami. Preity, when asked about the last person she would contact from the film industry if kidnapped, promptly named Saif.
For those unaware, a devastating tsunami hit the Indian Ocean on December 26, 2004, claiming over 2,30,000 lives across 14 countries. Preity, who was in Phuket with friends during the catastrophe, has openly discussed the harrowing ordeal. She and Saif shared the screen in notable films like “Kal Ho Naa Ho” and “Salaam Namaste,” showcasing great on-screen chemistry.
Preity is set to return to the silver screen with “Lahore 1947,” directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and featuring Sunny Deol in the lead role. The movie, supported by Aamir Khan, revolves around the backdrop of India’s partition and also stars Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, and Abhimanyu Singh in key roles.
