President Droupadi Murmu is set to visit Ayodhya on March 19 for a series of religious events at the Ram Mandir Ayodhya. The visit includes the installation of the Ram Yantra on the temple’s second floor and Vedic rituals marking the Hindu New Year. The President will also oversee the installation of the Shri Ram Yantra and Shri Ram Naam temple, along with participating in Vedic prayers led by 51 scholars.
President Murmu will honor around 400 workers who contributed to the temple’s construction and raise a flag at one of the outer temples. The visit is expected to last about four hours, with the President’s convoy reaching the temple complex at 11 a.m. The event will host religious and social leaders, with 5,000 special guests invited, and arrangements made for security, seating, and transport.
The temple trust plans to allow access to additional shrines for devotees post the President’s visit. A system is proposed to permit 5,000 devotees daily to visit temples within the parkota area through a pass-based system. The number of pilgrims visiting Ayodhya is increasing, with 1,500 pilgrims from Punjab arriving recently by a special train to offer prayers to Ram Lalla.
Committee chairman Nripendra Mishra mentioned ongoing discussions at the temple construction committee meeting regarding the President’s visit and temple arrangements. Most construction work at the temple is completed, with only the Hutatma memorial and a temporary temple structure pending. Agreements for maintenance and special arrangements have been made to ensure the annual Surya Tilak ritual of Ram Lalla on Ram Navami continues smoothly.
