President Droupadi Murmu highlighted the enduring connection between the people of India and Romania as the cornerstone of the bilateral relationship. Speaking to the Indian community and ‘Friends of India’ in Bucharest at the end of her State Visit, she urged Indians in Romania to actively contribute to India’s progress.

During her visit, the Bucharest University of Economic Studies bestowed an Honorary Doctorate upon President Murmu, which she accepted as a symbol of the strong bond between the two nations. She encouraged Romanian educational institutions to enhance collaboration through joint research and academic exchanges, underscoring the importance of education in transforming lives.
