President Droupadi Murmu, European Council President Antonio Costa, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen were greeted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Kartavya Path for the Republic Day celebrations. The President and Chief Guests were escorted by the President’s Bodyguard, ‘Rashtrapati ke Angarakshak’, in the ‘Traditional Buggy, reviving a 40-year-old tradition. Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan was also welcomed by the Prime Minister and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
This year’s Republic Day Parade will showcase 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’, India’s military prowess with displays of BrahMos and Akash missiles, and cultural diversity through 30 vibrant tableaux. The parade, following Operation Sindoor last year, will exhibit cutting-edge defence platforms and a grand flypast featuring 29 aircraft, including Rafale, Su-30, P8i, and more. The event will also include a cultural performance by 2,500 artists celebrating ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and Vande Mataram.
Participants of ‘Mann ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s radio show, will join the Republic Day Parade audience, including construction workers of Kartavya Bhawan and other special guests recognized for their contributions to income generation, innovation, research, and government initiatives.
