Civil Services Day serves as an annual reminder for civil servants nationwide to recommit themselves to serving the citizens and upholding excellence in their public service endeavors. The day holds historical significance, dating back to 1947 when Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel referred to civil servants as the backbone of India during an address to the probationers of the All India Administrative Service.

Shah praised civil servants for their dedication to policy implementation and governance, highlighting their integral role in nation-building.
