The President underscored the wealth of medicinal plants and herbs found in farms, kitchens, and forests, emphasizing the need to conserve these resources for medicine production and environmental balance. She highlighted that cultivating medicinal plants not only benefits farmers economically but also aids in soil health and conservation efforts.
President Murmu pointed out that Ayurveda, yoga, and other AYUSH systems provide guidance on maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. She noted the global recognition of integrative medicine for disease prevention, with many people worldwide embracing yoga and Ayurvedic treatments for overall well-being.
According to the President, measures such as evidence-based research, medicine standardization, and quality control will further enhance the credibility and acceptance of AYUSH systems. She commended the Ministry of AYUSH for its continuous efforts in this direction, including establishing general research guidelines and drug development standards.
President Murmu expressed confidence that through modern scientific interventions, innovations, and global collaboration, traditional systems of medicine can become more accessible and popular. She believed that integrating these systems into the holistic healthcare framework is crucial for addressing modern health challenges effectively.
