President Droupadi Murmu commended India’s advancements in agriculture, industry, healthcare, and social welfare during her address to Parliament at the Budget Session’s commencement. She praised India’s achievement of record foodgrain production exceeding 350 million tonnes, elevating the nation to the world’s top rice producer.
Highlighting India’s status as the second-largest fish-producing country and a global leader in milk production, President Murmu emphasized the success of the blue economy and cooperative movement. She also applauded India’s position as the second-largest mobile manufacturer, attributing this success to the government’s anti-corruption measures and commitment to utilizing funds for national development.
President Murmu spotlighted infrastructure progress, particularly the expansion of rural roads through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. She recognized the establishment of 1.8 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, initiatives supporting senior citizens, and the significant healthcare campaigns targeting diseases like Sickle Cell Anaemia and Japanese Encephalitis.
The President underscored the government’s inclusive vision of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, emphasizing its positive impact on marginalized communities. She highlighted the substantial increase in social security coverage, benefiting 95 crore Indians compared to 25 crore in 2014. President Murmu’s address outlined India’s remarkable development journey, projecting it as a globally significant narrative.
