President Droupadi Murmu awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar to 20 outstanding children from across India for their remarkable achievements in fields like art, culture, sports, and innovation. She praised the children for bringing pride to their families and communities, extending her blessings to them and their families.
The President highlighted the significance of Veer Bal Diwas, celebrated on December 26 annually to honor the courage and sacrifice of the sons of Sikhism’s tenth Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. She commended the efforts of Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi and her team for organizing the award ceremony to recognize talented children.
Recalling the historical sacrifices made by Guru Gobind Singh Ji and his sons, President Murmu paid homage to Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh. She emphasized that Veer Bal Diwas symbolizes patriotism, bravery, and national unity, serving as a day of remembrance and celebration.
