The Gopalganj Police in Bihar apprehended Rajesh Sah, the main suspect in the assault on Vijendra Nath Tiwari, the elder brother of actor Pankaj Tripathi. The arrest followed a special police operation aimed at resolving the life-threatening attack.
The incident occurred in Belsand village under the Madhopur police station area in Bihar’s Gopalganj district, raising concerns due to the victim’s familial ties with the renowned actor. To investigate the matter, Gopalganj Superintendent of Police Vinay Tiwari formed a Special Investigation Team promptly after the assault.
Rajesh Sah, the arrested individual, is currently under interrogation to uncover potential accomplices involved in orchestrating or executing the attack. Initial inquiries revealed that the assault stemmed from an old personal feud and a prolonged land dispute, as stated by investigators.
Efforts are underway to identify any additional individuals linked to the incident from neighboring villages such as Mirhatti. Vijendra Nath Tiwari, the victim, was reportedly ambushed with sticks and sharp weapons while taking a post-dinner stroll outside his residence, leading to severe injuries.
A case has been registered at the Madhopur police station, encompassing serious charges including attempted murder. Following the arrest, the police are actively pursuing the recovery of weapons allegedly used in the assault. Vijendra Nath Tiwari is currently receiving medical treatment in a Patna government hospital, with his condition reported as stable and out of danger.
Authorities are striving to expedite the investigation process and file necessary charges promptly. Superintendent of Police Vinay Tiwari emphasized a swift trial to ensure timely justice for the victim and his family.
