Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted India’s core strengths in community living, family values, and collective responsibility during his monthly radio address. He praised the unique tradition of collective dining in Chandanki village, Gujarat, where meals are prepared in a community kitchen for the entire village to share, fostering a strong sense of togetherness for the past 15 years.
PM Modi commended such initiatives for not only uniting people but also instilling a familial bond, which he described as an integral part of Indian tradition. He shared examples from Sheikhgund village in Jammu and Kashmir, where community efforts led to addressing challenges like drug abuse, and praised organizations like Vivekananda Lok Shiksha Niketan in West Bengal for their long-term social service contributions.
The Prime Minister also mentioned the UAE’s initiative to celebrate 2026 as the Year of the Family, aiming to enhance harmony and community spirit among its people. He emphasized the power of collective action in overcoming societal challenges, citing instances where unity within families and communities had brought about positive changes.
