He noted that yoga unites people globally, making June 21 a significant international event.
Expressing joy at Kolkata’s enthusiastic participation in the global festival, Prime Minister Modi underscored that practicing yoga regularly helps maintain vitality and youthfulness as one ages. He emphasized the importance of integrating yoga into daily life and family routines to experience its rejuvenating effects, enabling individuals to feel younger than their actual age.
Reflecting on the historical connection between yoga and Bengal, Prime Minister Modi highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s pivotal role in promoting yoga on a global scale. He recalled Swami Vivekananda’s teachings on yoga as a path to liberation, joy, and love, emphasizing its profound impact on mind-body development. The Prime Minister emphasized that yoga is an integral part of West Bengal’s rich cultural heritage.
