The event, inaugurated at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from July 14th to 17th, celebrates India’s diverse textile heritage and global presence.
Union Minister of State for Textiles Pabitra Margherita described ‘Bharat Tex’ as a premier global textile trade fair, demonstrating India’s manufacturing prowess and creativity. The fair serves as a hub for domestic manufacturers, international exhibitors, and global buyers, facilitating extensive sourcing and brand promotion.
Margherita highlighted the success of past editions and the positive impact on India’s textile industry. The current edition at Bharat Mandapam showcases the entire textile value chain, underscoring the sector’s vital role in India’s economy and employment generation.
Textiles not only reflect India’s rich traditions but also drive economic growth, contributing significantly to GDP, industrial production, and exports. With over 100 million employees, the textile sector plays a crucial role in empowering rural communities and enhancing financial independence, especially for women.
