Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up his two-day official visit to the Netherlands at the invitation of Dutch counterpart Rob Jetten. During the visit, he engaged in various high-level meetings and discussions aimed at strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
On the morning of May 16, Prime Minister Modi had a bilateral meeting with King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima at the Royal Palace Huis ten Bosch in the Hague. The leaders discussed the historical trade linkages and people-to-people ties between India and the Netherlands.
Both Prime Ministers highlighted the progress made in cooperation programs and decided to elevate the relations to a ‘Strategic Partnership’. They agreed to work together in various areas including trade, defense, cybersecurity, technology, sustainability, and education. The leaders also emphasized the importance of upholding shared values such as democracy and human rights.
In the economic sector, both leaders acknowledged the strong partnership between the two countries, particularly in areas like trade, investment, and innovation. They welcomed the signing of agreements across different sectors and expressed optimism about further growth opportunities, especially with the India-EU Free Trade Agreement.
