Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed that the youth of the country cannot be silenced by anyone. Her remarks followed the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan amidst nationwide protests for accountability over exam irregularities.
Speaking in Kerala’s Wayanad, Priyanka Gandhi shared that she felt emotional upon hearing the news. She highlighted concerns about the influence of the RSS in the education system and the suppression of dissenting voices.
Priyanka Gandhi emphasized that force has been used against young people and those who raise their voices in protest. She commended the youth for speaking up and asserted that their voices cannot be suppressed by anyone.
The resignation of the Education Minister was a key demand of the student protests that ensued after the NEET-UG paper leak on May 3. The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk hailed Pradhan’s resignation as a victory for democracy.
