Producer Nidhi Dutta, daughter of J. P. Dutta, shared insights on why actress Tabu was not part of the cast for the upcoming film ‘Border 2’. She explained that the sequel focuses on a different battle scenario than the 1971 war depicted in the first movie, leading to a selective return of actors from the original.
During promotions, Nidhi clarified that Sunny Deol portrays a different character in ‘Border 2’ and not Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri as in the first film. She emphasized the distinctiveness of the characters and their relationships in the sequel, reflecting the evolved storyline.
Nidhi also revealed that the film was a significant responsibility entrusted to them by the late CDS General Bipin Rawat. General Rawat had shared stories of 22 heroes with them, out of which a few are incorporated into the film. The project, she expressed, is not just a personal endeavor but also a tribute to General Rawat’s vision and dedication.
