The Producers Guild of India has acknowledged actor Ranveer Singh’s departure from ‘Don 3’ and the ensuing controversy. In an official statement shared on social media, the Guild criticized the behavior of artists who back out of commitments at the last minute, affecting trust and professionalism in the industry. The Guild highlighted the financial losses faced by producers due to such actions, emphasizing the need for a fair business environment in the film industry.
The Guild expressed concerns over the reputational damage, credibility issues, and financial impacts caused by such conduct. They urged all industry members to resolve disputes amicably and emphasized the importance of upholding trust and mutual respect within the filmmaking community. The statement called for a collaborative effort to protect the interests of all involved parties and ensure a smooth production process.
Following the incident, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-Cooperation Directive against Ranveer Singh. Producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani reported significant financial losses amounting to around Rs 45 crore in the pre-production phase of ‘Don 3’.
