The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) has revealed the Tata Open golf tournament scheduled to take place in Jamshedpur from December 25 to 28. The tournament, offering a prize purse of Rs 2 crore, will be held at the Beldih and Golmuri golf courses in Jamshedpur. This event marks the final leg of the 2025 PGTI season and will feature a field of 126 professionals.
The Tata Open golf tournament will follow a four-day format with players competing in the stroke-play format over four rounds of 18 holes each. After the initial two rounds, the top 50 players and ties will progress to the subsequent rounds. The tournament’s unique format involves players switching venues between Beldih Golf Club and Golmuri Golf Club for the first two rounds.
In the following rounds, the leading groups will tee off from Golmuri before transitioning to Beldih to complete their rounds. Notable Indian professionals participating in the tournament include Yuvraj Sandhu, Veer Ahlawat, Shaurya Bhattacharya, and Arjun Prasad, among others. The event will also see the presence of prominent foreign players such as N. Thangaraja, Mithun Perera, and Md Siddikur Rahman.
The Tata Open will witness the participation of former champions like Om Prakash Chouhan, Mithun Perera, Mukesh Kumar, and Shamim Khan. Local talent Kurush Heerjee will lead the challenge from Jamshedpur. Amandeep Johl, CEO of PGTI, expressed gratitude to Tata Steel for their support in reviving the iconic Tata Open tournament, emphasizing the significance of its return as the season finale in 2025.
