Prominent Muslim clerics, Maulana Yasoob Abbas and Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, have raised alarms about the escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, cautioning about potential global repercussions. Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali, President of the Islamic Centre of India, expressed disappointment over the failed talks between the two nations in Islamabad, highlighting the unease it has caused internationally. Firangi Mahali criticized the US President’s claim of victory in the conflict, pointing out that several NATO countries refrained from supporting the US due to concerns about the legality and fairness of the situation.
He further warned against the US issuing threats to other major powers like China, emphasizing that such actions could disrupt global order. All India Shia Personal Law Board General Secretary, Maulana Yasoob Abbas, described the current geopolitical situation as extremely grave, hinting at the possibility of a third world war. Abbas accused the US of trying to upset global balance and openly challenging China, potentially leading to retaliatory actions and increased tensions.
Questioning the intent and outcome of the US-Iran negotiations, Abbas noted that the talks collapsed due to rigid stances on both sides. He pointed out that the US pushed for terms favorable to itself, while Iran stood firm on its own conditions, making consensus unattainable. Both clerics stressed the importance of dialogue, respect, and adherence to international law to prevent further deterioration of the situation.
