A property dealer and bookseller in Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district was fatally shot by unknown assailants outside a temple on Saturday morning. The victim, identified as Shyam Kumar Kushwaha, had gone to the temple for his daily prayers when the attackers on a motorcycle opened fire, leading to his tragic demise. The incident took place near Dera Chowk under the Siwaipatti police station limits.
Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants fired multiple shots at close range before fleeing the scene. Despite being rushed to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital, the victim, Shyam Kumar Kushwaha, was pronounced dead upon arrival. Police, upon receiving information, promptly arrived at the site and initiated an investigation.
Shyam Kumar Kushwaha, also known as Shyam Sundar Prasad, was a well-known local businessman involved in both bookselling and property dealings. The police are exploring various leads, including examining CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the culprits and piece together the events leading to the tragic incident.
