The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police announced the attachment of the property belonging to former Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) president, Dr. Mubeen Ahmed Shah. This action is part of an ongoing investigation related to a case filed in 2020, involving 12 marlas of land in Buchwara, Srinagar. The attachment was carried out under FIR No. 07/2020 by Police Station CIK after completing necessary legal formalities.

Dr. Mubeen Shah, a prominent industrialist who led the KCCI from 2006 to 2008, has been residing in Malaysia with his family since late 2019. The property attachment is a significant step in the ongoing investigation, with officials confirming that legal proceedings will proceed as per the law. The attachment process was conducted in the presence of Naib Tehsildar Shah Mohammad Asif.

Officials did not provide further details on the case immediately. Dr. Mubeen Shah, known as a separatist and influential Kashmiri businessman, was previously detained in 2019 and subsequently released. His family, renowned in the Valley for their business ventures, is currently engaged in Kashmiri handicrafts in Malaysia. The family previously operated a leading automobile business in the region, serving as the exclusive agency of Hindustan Motors in Jammu and Kashmir during a period of protectionist industrial policies.
