Pune Superintendent of Police Sandeep Singh Gill refuted claims of a stampede at Shivneri Fort, the birthplace of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He clarified that a group carrying a ceremonial torch hurriedly descended the fort’s steps, resulting in a minor incident where a few individuals sustained minor leg injuries. The situation was swiftly managed without any stampede-like scenario.
Following the incident, the movement of people at the fort has been organized in a controlled manner. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis commended the police and administration for their prompt response in ensuring the safety of attendees during the birth anniversary celebrations of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Shivneri Fort. The event witnessed a large gathering of devotees and the presence of key leaders.
The ceremony, marked by enthusiastic celebrations and patriotic fervor, saw the participation of numerous devotees and activists bringing the ceremonial torch to the fort.
