Punjab BJP working President Ashwani Sharma criticized the Aam Aadmi Party and the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab government for their handling of a video controversy involving MLA Atishi. The forensic examination report confirmed the authenticity of the video where Atishi allegedly made derogatory remarks against Guru Sahib during a Delhi Assembly session. Sharma questioned the Punjab government’s credibility in denying the video’s authenticity when they do not possess the original footage.
The BJP leader accused the Aam Aadmi Party and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of protecting Atishi despite her disrespectful comments towards Guru Sahib. He highlighted that the forensic examination of the original video by the Delhi Assembly proved that it was not manipulated. Despite this evidence, Sharma criticized Chief Minister Mann and his colleagues for defending Atishi, which he believes is deeply offensive to the Sikh community.
Sharma further accused the AAP of maintaining double standards on religious matters, which he believes the people of Punjab will not tolerate. He demanded a public apology from Atishi for her remarks and urged the Punjab government to clarify its stance on the issue unequivocally.
