Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon criticized the AAP government in Punjab for failing to fulfill Arvind Kejriwal’s promise of generating Rs 20,000 crore from sand and gravel mining. Despite being in power for over four years, the government reportedly collected only around Rs 600 crore in mining revenue in 2025-26. Dhillon highlighted that a significant portion of this revenue came from taxes on mining material entering Punjab from neighboring states.
Questioning the whereabouts of the remaining Rs 19,400 crore, Dhillon accused the government of turning a blind eye to illegal mining activities. He expressed concerns over the rampant operation of tipper trucks and the environmental impact of unchecked mining in Punjab. Dhillon emphasized that the government’s promises have not translated into tangible benefits for the state or its people.
Dhillon issued a direct challenge to the AAP government, asserting that their touted “revolution” has been debunked as mere rhetoric. He criticized the government for failing to address key issues such as river conservation and fiscal management. Dhillon vowed that the people of Punjab would demand accountability from the government for its unfulfilled promises and mismanagement of resources.
