Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that the BJP is pushing Diljit Dosanjh, a popular singer-actor, to join politics. Mann made this statement after meeting with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Dosanjh recently denied any interest in politics, emphasizing his focus on entertainment. Mann criticized the BJP’s trend of promoting celebrities in politics following actor Vijay’s success in Tamil Nadu.
Dosanjh had shared an article questioning his potential political role, to which he responded firmly that he is content with his entertainment career. CM Mann also addressed a recent shooting incident near Dosanjh’s manager’s residence, allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Mann condemned such acts of intimidation and emphasized the importance of allowing artists to entertain freely.
During a concert in Calgary, Dosanjh confronted individuals displaying pro-Khalistan flags, urging them to respect the event’s purpose. He later clarified that the flags were removed for disrupting the show, denouncing any harassment towards his fans. Dosanjh emphasized his commitment to ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for his audience.
