Punjab Kings cricketer Shashank Singh and his father, retired Special Director General (DG) of Police Shailesh Singh, have been accused of assault, abuse, and forcibly taking a cook’s mobile phone at their residence in Bhopal. The FIR, naming Shailesh Singh, Shashank Singh, and their driver, has led to a case under specific sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The complainant, Vipendra Singh Tomar, from Rewa district, alleged that he was mistreated after being promised a monthly salary, food, and accommodation. Tomar claimed that after requesting his mobile phone back, he was verbally abused and physically attacked by Shailesh Singh, Shashank Singh, and their driver, who then expelled him from the house. Additionally, he stated that Rs 1,000 was transferred from his phone for supposed expenses.
Shashank Singh plays for Punjab Kings in the IPL, while his father, Shailesh Singh, is a retired Special DG of Police in Madhya Pradesh. Investigations are ongoing, and attempts to obtain a response from Shailesh Singh have been unsuccessful.
