Punjab Police announced the arrest of seven individuals, including two attackers, in relation to the murder of ex-sarpanch Jharmal Singh. The Director General of Police revealed that gangster Prabh Dasuwal orchestrated the crime due to longstanding animosity, emphasizing its calculated nature. This breakthrough signifies the authorities’ commitment to combat organized crime effectively.

The arrested suspects were identified as Sukhraj Singh, Karamjeet Singh, Jobanpreet Singh, Harpreet Singh, Kulwinder Singh, and Armandeep Singh. Sukhraj Singh, known as Gunga, has a criminal record and was also involved in another sarpanch’s murder. Investigations unveiled Dasuwal’s vendetta against the victim, indicating a well-planned scheme.

The police’s prompt action involved forming specialized teams to probe the incident urgently. Through a combination of technical surveillance and human intelligence, the authorities pinpointed the shooters, Sukhraj Singh and Karamjeet Singh. The coordinated efforts of various law enforcement agencies led to the apprehension of the culprits in different states.

Further arrests included two individuals named Jobanpreet Singh from Mohali, Harpreet Singh from Valtoha, and Kulwinder Singh and Armandeep Singh from Tarn Taran. These suspects allegedly facilitated the crime by providing support such as shelter, weapons, and transportation to the shooters.
