Former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, accompanied by RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, has moved out of the government bungalow at 10 Circular Road in Patna after almost two decades. This address has been a significant location in Bihar politics, closely linked to the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s political journey. Rabri Devi had been residing at this bungalow since February 2, 2006, during her time as the Leader of the Opposition in Bihar.
The bungalow at 10 Circular Road had become a pivotal hub for the Lalu family, hosting crucial meetings and political decisions for the Mahagathbandhan. It was a symbol of RJD politics in Bihar. Before vacating the bungalow, Rabri Devi raised concerns about the official inventory of government-owned items and requested the original documents from the Building Construction Department. Despite the pending issue, she has now left the premises.
As the current Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Council, Rabri Devi has been allotted an official residence at 39 Harding Road. Meanwhile, the Lalu family has temporarily moved to their private residence in Kautilya Nagar. The family’s political and personal activities will now operate from separate locations, with Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, already settled in his official residence at 1 Polo Road.
The Bihar government had instructed Rabri Devi to vacate the bungalow within a specified timeframe, leading to a gradual shifting of belongings over the past few days. The government has now assigned the 10 Circular Road bungalow to Nand Kishore Ram, the state’s Minister for Animal and Fisheries Resources.
