Amid nationwide protests over the NEET paper leak, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, reached out to the family of Pradeep Meghwal, an aspirant who tragically died by suicide. Pradeep, who had been preparing for the NEET exam in Sikar, reportedly faced immense distress after the exam’s cancellation.
NSUI National President Vinod Jakhar visited Pradeep Meghwal’s family in Rajasthan, facilitating a conversation between Rahul Gandhi and the bereaved family. Gandhi expressed his condolences and pledged to fight against exam paper leaks and the entities responsible for jeopardizing students’ futures.
Pradeep Meghwal, a resident of Jhunjhunu district, took his life on May 15 in Sikar, where he had been residing while preparing for NEET. His family highlighted his mental stress due to the exam controversy. The family urged for strict actions against those involved in the paper leaks and advocated for stronger laws to prevent such incidents.
Earlier, the NSUI organized a peaceful protest march in Sikar against the alleged NEET paper leak and corruption in the education system. The protesters demanded transparency, impartial investigations into paper leaks, and severe punishments for the culprits. NSUI leaders emphasized the need for a robust system to safeguard students’ futures.
