Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to visit Kota, Rajasthan, on June 17 for his program “Chhatron ki Goonj” aimed at engaging with students and youth. The event, scheduled at Shriram Rangmanch in Kota’s Dussehra Ground, will involve a direct dialogue with students rather than a typical political rally. Gandhi will interact with students to understand their challenges, especially regarding NEET, paper leaks, and recruitment issues.
The outreach program is designed to address the concerns of students and job seekers amidst controversies surrounding competitive exams and alleged paper leaks. The event preparations are in full swing, with City Congress president Rakhi Gautam and Rural Congress president Bhanu Pratap Singh overseeing the arrangements. PCC president of Rajasthan, Govind Singh Dotasra, accused the BJP of disrupting the program but assured that it would proceed as planned.
Former chief minister Ashok Gehlot highlighted the impact of repeated paper leaks and recruitment issues on the youth’s trust in the system. He emphasized the significance of launching a movement focused on students from Kota, stating that it sends a strong political message. A review meeting was held to assign responsibilities for the event, which aims to address concerns related to competitive exams and educational reforms in Kota, known as India’s largest coaching hub.
