Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is set to embark on a vigorous campaign tour in Tamil Nadu this Saturday to boost the Congress party’s efforts before the upcoming Assembly elections. The Congress, a significant partner in the DMK-led alliance, has been allocated 28 seats in the State. Gandhi’s visit aims to motivate party workers and enhance the campaign in crucial constituencies.
The detailed schedule, as per party sources, outlines Gandhi’s travel plans, starting from his departure from Delhi at 8:30 A.M. to his arrival in Chennai at 11:10 A.M. Subsequently, he will head to Ponneri in Tiruvallur district by helicopter for a public address from 11:55 A.M. to 12:40 P.M. He will then proceed to Sholingur for another public meeting from 1:25 P.M. to 2:10 P.M.
After a brief return to Chennai, Rahul Gandhi will continue his campaign in Tiruchirappalli, followed by a public rally in Thuraiyur. The day will conclude with his return to Tiruchirappalli and departure for Delhi at 5:40 P.M. Party sources suggest that Gandhi will revisit Tamil Nadu on April 20 for further campaigning in specific constituencies.
There are expectations of a joint appearance by Rahul Gandhi and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin during this election campaign, possibly in Nanguneri. With the elections approaching, Gandhi’s tour is anticipated to provide a significant boost to the DMK-Congress alliance’s campaign momentum in the State.
