A day after Purnea Lok Sabha MP Rajesh Ranjan, known as Pappu Yadav, was arrested in a 31-year-old case, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra criticized the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government. They accused the government of systemic collusion in handling the NEET aspirant death case in Bihar.

Rahul Gandhi expressed concern over the suspicious death of the NEET aspirant in Patna, highlighting alleged collusion within the system during the investigation. He criticized the BJP-NDA model for diverting cases, harassing families, and protecting wrongdoers.

Defending Pappu Yadav, Rahul Gandhi labeled his arrest as political vendetta, emphasizing Yadav’s commitment to seeking justice. He condemned the arrest as an attempt to silence voices demanding accountability and justice for the victim.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also condemned the arrest and the government’s handling of the NEET aspirant case, calling it shocking. She criticized the suspicious nature of the FIR registration, investigation, and actions taken, raising questions about the motives behind protecting certain individuals.

Pappu Yadav’s arrest at his residence in Patna led to a confrontation between his supporters and the police. The MP-MLA Special Court had ordered the attachment of properties of three accused, including Pappu Yadav, in connection with a decades-old case involving fraudulent activities and threats.

Despite efforts by Bihar Police and subsequent transfer of the case to the CBI, the NEET aspirant death case remains unresolved. The victim’s family has expressed dissatisfaction with the investigations and alleged pressure from the authorities, demanding a thorough and impartial probe.
