Raijor Dal president Akhil Gogoi has strongly criticized the Congress party, likening their political confrontation to Iran challenging the United States. Gogoi expressed readiness to face the Congress politically, emphasizing their intent to contest the upcoming Assembly elections seriously. He affirmed Raijor Dal’s goal to secure seats and enhance its political presence in Assam, highlighting their determination not to compromise on principles.
Akhil Gogoi emphasized that Raijor Dal is not participating in the elections symbolically but with a firm resolve to emerge victorious. He stressed the party’s commitment to maintaining its political integrity and not yielding to any compromises for the sake of alliances. Gogoi warned against underestimating Raijor Dal, asserting their capability to engage in political battles effectively.
The Raijor Dal leader’s comments followed Congress’s unsuccessful attempts to form an electoral alliance with Raijor Dal for the upcoming elections in Assam. Gaurav Gogoi of the Congress acknowledged the people’s desire for opposition unity but cited the inability to establish a favorable environment for an alliance with Raijor Dal. Despite efforts, the two parties could not create conducive conditions for a collaborative electoral strategy.
