The Rajasthan Assembly is set to commemorate its 75th year with a special gathering of current and former Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) on Wednesday. The event will kick off the Assembly’s ‘Amrit Utsav’ celebrations, with preparations being reviewed by Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani.
Devnani ensured seamless arrangements for the arriving public representatives, emphasizing accommodation, transportation, and medical facilities, especially for senior and elderly former MLAs. The event is described as “historic” by the Assembly Speaker, marking the beginning of the ‘Amrit Utsav’ with a joint platform for current and former legislators.
Former MLAs have started arriving in Jaipur, with accommodations arranged at various locations. Members of Parliament from Rajasthan have also been invited to participate in the celebrations, with welcome hoardings installed across Jaipur and the Assembly building illuminated to mark the occasion.
The inaugural ceremony will see Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in attendance, while former Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony. The event will commence at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, with Governor Haribhau Bagde and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma among the distinguished guests.
