After a gap of nearly two and a half years, the Rajasthan Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has named Ajaey Kumar as the State General Secretary (Organisation). This appointment fills a crucial post that had been vacant since January 2024, following the transfer of the previous office-holder, Chandrashekhar, to Telangana after a seven-year tenure.
Ajaey Kumar’s selection holds significant importance beyond a routine reshuffle, as it aims to address communication gaps within the party structure. As the backbone of the party, the State General Secretary (Organisation) plays a vital role in connecting the RSS, party leadership, elected representatives, and workers, overseeing various organizational aspects.
With local body elections on the horizon and the next Assembly polls over two years away, the BJP leadership is focusing on strengthening its organizational setup in advance. Ajaey Kumar, known for his extensive organizational experience spanning nearly three decades, faces the immediate task of uniting factions, revitalizing the cadre, and enhancing booth-level structures in Rajasthan.
Originally from Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, Ajaey Kumar has a background in the RSS and has held key positions within the Sangh. His past roles as the BJP Regional General Secretary (Organisation) in Western Uttar Pradesh and later in Uttarakhand have been credited with enhancing membership drives, organizational discipline, and coordination between the party and the government.
Rajasthan BJP president Madan Rathore welcomed Ajaey Kumar’s appointment, emphasizing his ability to infuse fresh energy into the state unit. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma also praised Kumar’s organizational skills and leadership qualities, highlighting the BJP leadership’s confidence in experienced organizers to steer the party toward a more dynamic and people-centric approach.
